BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — This week, over a dozen schools in Brunswick County will return to in-person classes, just under ten days after a storm disrupted several roads in the area.
The school district had previously announced a full week of remote learning due to the storm’s impact. However, after assessing the improvements made to county roads over the weekend, officials have confirmed that the following schools will resume face-to-face instruction and normal operations on Wednesday:
– North Brunswick High School
– West Brunswick High School
– The COAST
– BCECHS
– Leland Middle School
– Shallotte Middle School
– Town Creek Middle School
– Waccamaw School
– Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School
– Union Elementary School
– Supply Elementary School
– Lincoln Elementary School
– Belville Elementary School
– Town Creek Elementary School
Tuesday has been designated for teachers at these schools to prepare their lesson plans for the transition back to in-person activities.
All certified employees working at closed schools are encouraged to report to work if possible. If attending in person is not feasible, they should coordinate with their direct supervisors to create a remote work plan. The district has advised certified staff who do not teach in classrooms, along with classified staff unable to return to their regular job sites on Wednesday, to consult with their supervisors for approval on alternative work locations or remote work options.
