“Post-Storm Cleanup and Debris Management Tips for Pleasure Island Residents”

**Pleasure Island Residents Begin Recovery After Recent Storm**

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – Residents of Pleasure Island affected by last week’s storm are now in the recovery phase and actively engaged in cleaning up their homes.

On Tuesday, Carolina Beach officials permitted residents to place storm debris curbside for collection. Community members are advised to position flood debris in the right-of-way (ROW) in front of their properties.

To facilitate efficient cleanup, residents should separate their debris into distinct piles by category. Piles should be organized to include appliances in one group, leaves and branches in another, inert building materials in a separate pile, and furniture in yet another. It is important to note that items not organized in this manner will not be collected. Household trash should not be included in these debris piles.

The collection of flood debris will take place over the upcoming weeks. Residents can find regular updates on debris collection and other important information on the Town of Carolina Beach Government’s Facebook page.
