Title for Blog Post: “nCino Sports Park Grand Opening: A New Athletic Hub in Wilmington, NC”

The grand opening of the nCino Sports Park took place this morning in Wilmington. Situated on Sutton Steam Plant Road, the newly expanded park, developed on the grounds of a former landfill, boasts 11 athletic fields. Among these, one field features synthetic turf, five are equipped with lighting for evening play, and four others have the infrastructure prepared for future lighting installation. Additionally, the park now includes a new 2600 sq ft. restroom and concessions building.

Under an agreement with the city, the Wilmington Hammerheads Youth Soccer Club manages the sports park. Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo credited the realization of the park to the contributions of the Wilmington Hammerheads, who donated the land, nCino, a key funding supporter, and the Wilmington citizens who endorsed the parks bond in 2016. Saffo emphasized the collaborative effort that made the park’s development possible, highlighting the crucial role of the community members who showed their support at the polls.

The park’s inaugural major event is scheduled for this weekend, featuring an all-girls national soccer tournament.
