“Wilmington Man Arrested on Multiple Charges After Shooting Incident
A 31-year-old man, Quashon Nixon, has been arrested and is facing a slew of charges following a shooting incident in Wilmington. The Wilmington Police responded to a report of shots fired on September 16th at the 4900 block of Vineyard Lane. Subsequent investigations found that the shooting stemmed from a drug deal.
Nixon, identified as a validated gang member, had warrants issued for his arrest on charges including Attempted Armed Robbery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Kill, five counts of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
On October 2nd, a partner agency located Nixon in the area of Houston Moore and apprehended him on the outstanding warrants. During the arrest, Nixon was found in possession of a stolen handgun and crack cocaine. In addition to the initial charges, he was further charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Felony Carrying a Concealed Handgun, and Possession of Cocaine.
Nixon has been taken to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond.”
