(PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Share the Table, a food pantry in Pender County, has announced the winners of its 2024 ‘Dogs for a Cause’ photo contest, aimed at raising funds for a new facility.
The first-place winner of the second annual cutest dog contest will have their photo featured on a beer at the Salty Turtle Beer Company in Surf City in 2025. According to a Facebook post from Share the Table, Baylee secured first place with 2,741 votes, followed by Leia in second with 2,500 votes, and Bodie in third with 1,895 votes. Share the Table has planned a release event at Salty Turtle in early March 2025 to unveil the new beer can showcasing this year’s winner.
As part of the contest, the second-place winner will receive a gift bag from Petco, which includes toys, treats, food, shampoo, and conditioner, along with social media recognition. The third-place winner will be awarded a $50 gift card from Pet Supplies Plus, as well as social media coverage.
Share the Table is a non-profit organization that provides food assistance to vulnerable residents in Pender and Onslow Counties. Through its various programs—including free community meals, a food pantry, and a school backpack program—the organization serves over 1,000 individuals in these counties each week.
Funds raised from the photo contest will contribute to necessary items for the new Share the Table facility, with each vote costing $1.
