Families and young basketball enthusiasts are being offered a unique opportunity to engage with the UNCW women’s basketball team at a special skills and wellness clinic taking place at Trask Coliseum. Hosted by OneSeahawk, this event is scheduled for October 23 at 5 p.m. and presents a chance for players in the 8th grade and below to join forces with the university’s women’s basketball student-athletes in preparation for the upcoming season.
Participants can look forward to receiving complimentary items such as t-shirts and posters, in addition to the opportunity to collect autographs from the team members post-clinic. While the young athletes focus on enhancing their basketball abilities, parents are encouraged to explore the various health and wellness activities available with local vendors. These offerings include options for healthy eating tailored for kids, posture assessments, and general health discussions led by professionals such as Dr. Ada Suter from Innate Health Family Chiropractic & Wellness, holistic wellness coaching by Samantha Ray Mifsud of Northwestern Mutual, acupuncture services with Dr. Gretchen Rivas of Infinity Acupuncture, wellness sessions with Renoja Wellness Studios, and 15-minute stretches provided by StretchLab of Wilmington.
Following the OneSeahawk event, attendees can look forward to an open practice session by the UNCW Women’s Basketball team at 6:30 pm in the Trask Coliseum. Participants of the clinic are welcome to stay for the team’s practice, enjoy complimentary food, and gain insights into the team’s preparations for what promises to be a significant season under the leadership of Head Coach Nicole Woods.
For those interested in attending, each paid entry allows admission for one child and one accompanying adult, with the requirement that each child is accompanied by an adult throughout the event.
