“Kids Making It: Empowering Youth with Woodworking at the New Burgaw Location”

Burgaw, NC – The nonprofit organization, Kids Making It, celebrated the inauguration of its second location this Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The organization, dedicated to youth empowerment through hands-on woodworking and mentorship, has launched its first expansion site for its after-school program. This program aims to stimulate creativity, cultivate skills, and instill an entrepreneurial mindset in teenagers.

Kevin Blackburn, the Executive Director said, “Kids Making It is much more than just a woodworking program. It’s a haven where kids are free to learn, create, and flourish.” Blackburn affirmed the organization’s commitment to the potential in every child, promising to offer the needed tools and guidance for their prolonged success. The program provides woodworking, life skills training, and mentorship to children aged 13-18, with the goal of fostering confidence, teamwork, and vocational skills.”
