“North Carolina Department of Transportation Progress Update: Road Repairs and Expected Traffic Delays Post-Storm”

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is actively working to repair roads that were damaged by last week’s storm, and there is good news to share.

The repair efforts on US 17 N near NC 87 are nearing completion, which means that all four north and southbound lanes in that area will soon be reopened to traffic.

The NCDOT advises drivers to anticipate delays around 9 PM as crews work to remove equipment and barriers. The department expects that all lanes of US 17 in this section will be fully accessible by tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, work continues on other major routes that suffered damage from the storm, including portions of NC 211 near Southport.

Motorists are encouraged to check driveNC.gov for the latest updates on road closures and repair progress.
