BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is actively working to repair roads that were damaged by last week’s storm, and there is some positive news to report.
Repair efforts on a section of US 17 N near NC 87 are nearing completion, which means that all four northbound and southbound lanes in that area will soon be reopened.
According to the NCDOT, drivers should anticipate delays around 9 PM as crews work to remove equipment and barriers. The department expects that all lanes of US 17 in that location will be fully accessible by tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, work continues on other major routes affected by the storm, including portions of NC 211 near Southport.
