BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is actively engaged in repairing roads impacted by last week’s storm, and there is some encouraging news.
Repair efforts on a section of US 17 N near NC 87 are nearing completion, and this means that all four northbound and southbound lanes in that area will soon be open to traffic.
The NCDOT advises that drivers should expect delays around 9 PM as crews work to remove equipment and barriers. The agency anticipates that all lanes of US 17 in this location will be fully operational by tomorrow morning.
In addition, work is still underway on other significant routes affected by the storm, including sections of NC 211 near Southport.
Motorists are encouraged to check driveNC.gov for the most current information on road closures and repair updates.
