“Spooky Seas, Reptile Encounters, and Beach Cleanups: Fall Fun at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher”

As the autumn season arrives, the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is offering a variety of exciting events to immerse visitors in the Halloween spirit while promoting environmental conservation. Among these events is the Spooky Seas extravaganza, where guests can witness underwater marvels and enjoy Halloween-themed activities such as underwater pumpkin carving and spooky treats at the Graveyard of the Atlantic exhibit. From otters to alligators to Maverick the bald eagle, animals at the aquarium will experience Halloween-inspired enrichment activities that are sure to delight visitors and underscore the staff’s dedication to species preservation.

During the “Get Lost in the Deep” event running from October 19 to November 1, guests can partake in the hauntingly fun activities included with regular Aquarium admission between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., with online ticket reservations required. Additionally, visitors can join in the celebration of Reptile Awareness Day on October 21, featuring special encounters with a snake and an aquatic turtle presented by the NCAFF education team.

In partnership with the Town of Carolina Beach, the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is hosting a “Boo to Trash” beach cleanup at the Carolina Beach Pier on October 26 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes for a chance to win a sustainable prize in the costume contest. The focus of the cleanup is on reusing and recycling, with free onsite parking available for those joining the cleanup effort.

By offering a blend of Halloween-themed activities and conservation initiatives, the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher aims to provide engaging experiences for visitors while nurturing a commitment to preserving the environment and its diverse species.
